Vivo comes up with dual cameras, notched display and Android 8.1 Oreo

Vivo has launched a new smartphone which is the first one under its Z series, the Vivo Z1. Following the current market trend, Vivo has added the iPhone X like the notched display to the new Z series phone. Besides the notch, the new Vivo phone comes with a huge screen of 6.26-inch and an aspect ratio of 19:9. The smartphone also comes with several smart beauty features and is perhaps capable of capturing great selfies. The Vivo Z1 is a mid range phone and comes for a price of CNY 1,798 which roughly translates to Rs 19,200. As of yet, there’s no word if Vivo will bring the Z1 to Indian market or not.

The Vivo Z1 comes in three colour variants — Porcelain Glaze Black, Hyun Screen Red, and Sapphire Blue. The smartphone comes with a dual rear camera setup, consisting of a 13-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. The rear camera comes paired with LED flash. On the front, the smartphone features a 12-megapixel selfie camera, as mentioned earlier coupled with smart beauty features. The new Vivo phone also comes with a facial recognition feature and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

The smartphone runs Android 8.1 Oreo-based FunTouch OS on top and is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 660 processor clocked up to 2.2GHz, paired with an Adreno 512 GPU. As mentioned earlier, the Vivo Z1 comes with a 6.26-inch display with a resolution of 1080×2280 pixels and aspect ratio of 19:9. The phone is paired with a 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which can be expandable up to 256GB via microSD card. The Vivo Z1 is backed by a 3260mAh battery and comes with several connectivity options like — 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, and GPS.

Meanwhile, the company is gearing up to launch the Vivo X21 UD handset with dual rear cameras, on-screen fingerprint scanner in India on May 29. The X21 UD is notably Vivo’s second phone to feature an on-screen fingerprint scanner. The first one being the Vivo X20 UD. The X21 comes with a 6.28-inch near bezel-less screen — with a notch — with a 19:9 aspect ratio. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. It runs Android 8.1 Oreo-based Funtouch OS. The X21 UD comes with a dual camera system on the rear consisting of one 12-megapixel primary sensor and 5-megapixel secondary sensor. The phone is likely to be priced at around Rs 35,000 which means that it will compete directly with OnePlus 6 and the Honor 10.
