Food, medicines, cosmetics, clothes…in the Digital Age, almost every commodity we use can be bought through online platforms, right from the comfort of our homes and from our smartphones. Education too has found its way online in the form of online education platforms, live streaming of classes and Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). Sigh! If only we had a consolidated platform where a student can apply online for the course of their choice in the college of their choice.

Let’s revamp: Mohammed Haseeb, Founder and CEO, ZR Mindz Global Technologies, tells us that the platform has close to 350 Colleges and nine lakh students as subscribers

Oh, wait! We do have such a platform now. ZR Mindz Global Technologies, a Bengaluru-based firm has turned this idea into a reality to allow colleges to make their admissions process quicker and easier. Their Virtual Admission Fair 2018 is an online platform where students can view colleges and their facilities, including courses, fee structure, and past results, while colleges can view students’ profiles and admit them on the basis of their qualification. “It is a one-of-a-kind platform in India and with this initiative, we hope to make the admissions process easy for both students as well as for colleges,” says Mohammed Haseeb, Founder, and CEO, ZR Mindz Global Technologies.

Virtual admissions will see students signing up on their website for free, while colleges are required to pay a subscription fee to access the students’ information. “Students need to submit a single application form and the colleges registered with us will use that application. There is no need for the students to submit new applications for each college. And we won’t share personal details like the students’ or their parents’ contact numbers with the colleges,” claims Haseeb.

Just a click: Virtual Admission Fair will enable both students and colleges to come together in one platform for admission procedures

With both Pre-University (PU) and Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) results still being declared in Karnataka, the online registration for colleges will go on till July. However, students can avail its services whenever they wish. “With admissions being very sluggish in Bengaluru at present, colleges are usually lenient with their admission requirement, especially with their cut-off percentage. However, to ensure transparency in the system, we have made sure that students who apply with us have fair educational qualifications,” says Haseeb.
